Driveline Disconnect
systems "are not, one size fits all". Systems are strictly ranges year/s,
make and model/s specific. We will need you or your mechanic to provide specific information to us
concerning style, length, and size of your original vehicle Driveshaft. If your not personally comfortable
doing some information gathering, we would suggest printing out the
vehicle worksheet
and seek out a competent mechanic to retrieve and list the information for you, which should take no more than 15 minutes.

Two piece or more multiple section Driveline (uses support bearing) assemblies are factory balanced as a complete assembly
when manufactured. By altering any part of the assembly you risk the chance of
upsetting the balance of the entire assembly. Even though the
Driveline Disconnect Shaft is delivered to you in a "high speed" balanced state, it is not balanced (matched) to the original assembly.
Most but not all vehicle manufacturers warn and state on their Driveshafts, "balanced as a complete assembly". We're advising you that
although very rare, you may develop a vibration if installing a
non-matched component (Disconnect Shaft) into your original assembly. For this reason, we cannot
guarantee the balance of your multiple (2) piece assemblies once
you've replaced the rear section with a non-matched shaft.
As stated above, this is a rare situation, but if a
vibration does occur, You will need to have the entire
assembly re-balanced at a professional Driveline facility
of your choice at your expense. As an alternative, you
may return your complete assembly to us, shipping both
ways at your expense and we will balance your assembly at
no charge. You may also make an appointment and bring the
vehicle to us for the same (balance only) free service
other than any labor costs which you would be responsible
for.
You should be "familiar" with driveshaft assemblies, how they work and the terminology that's
used by our industry in order to glean the appropriate information that we require.
Some installations will require you to remove original stock components and re-install them
onto your driveline coupler shaft at time of installation.
All Disconnect systems are based on the information you supply us by completing the information
form located below. If you have made changes such as differentials,
Driveshafts, transmissions or
components that change the original specifications of your vehicle, you will need to supply us
with that information in the forms comment box.
When you tow your rwd/4wd and some awd automobiles, vans, pickups or SUVs, the drive shaft to the rear axle must be
disconnected to prevent damage to the automatic transmission, 5-speed + manual transmissions and late model transfer cases. This requires physically disconnecting
the driveshaft from the differential and tying it up to the frame or other attachment point. The Drive Shaft Disconnect was developed to provide a quick and easy
means of disconnecting the transmission while sitting in the driver's seat. The coupling (mechanical clutch) is installed into
the rear portion of the vehicle's drive shaft at the differential.
